In 2001, Jeff Smith and His Band of Steves released A Little Romance, "a rootsy bluesy kind of, folk/pop American guitar music depicting real life situations in the 21st Century and before.

LA's Acetate Records released The Human Wilderness, which featured Jeff's songs and production. Pit Stop Magazine said the album featured "heartfelt songs about life in small town USA are true masterpieces of Americana.”
